Business Development Specialist
Job Summary
The Cold Caller is a key member of our sales and marketing team, responsible for generating new business leads and opportunities through proactive outbound phone calls. This role is often the first point of contact for potential clients, and the ideal candidate will be highly motivated, persuasive, and resilient. The primary goal is to qualify leads, set appointments, and gather information to pass on to the sales team for further engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Make a high volume of outbound calls to prospective customers from a provided list or directory.
- Introduce the company's products and services in a compelling and professional manner.
- Follow established scripts and talking points, but also be adaptable and able to think on your feet.
- Ask targeted questions to understand the prospect's needs, pain points, and interest level.
- Qualify leads based on pre-defined criteria and determine if they are a viable prospect.
- Set appointments or meetings for sales representatives to close deals.
- Accurately record and manage all prospect information, call details, and outcomes in a CRM system.
- Handle objections and rejections with persistence and a positive attitude.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to refine lead generation strategies.
- Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly targets for call volume, leads generated, and appointments set.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in a cold calling, telemarketing, or sales role is preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to persuade and influence others.
- Resilient and persistent, with the ability to handle rejection effectively.
- Basic computer skills and experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
